Surprise!

I know I've failed at writing every day, and at getting rid of 10 things every day, but it was my birthday, so it's okay.

I had an amazing birthday weekend. Thursday, after a long day of work, I was so anxious to get to Red Lobster with Katie for a birthday dinner and a couple of birthday margaritas. By the end of the day, it was looking like we were going to have to postpone as we didn't seem to be getting out anytime soon. It was 8 o'clock before we finally escaped.

Katie and I parted ways, each heading for our cars. On the way, I noticed I didn't have my keys, and thought I might have left them in her car when we left for lunch. (I had.) While I was walking towards her, I pulled my iPhone out of the back pocket it was sharing with my debit card and license. It wasn't until we were at Katie's house, dropping off my car, that I noticed my ID was missing. It must have slipped out of my pocket when I yanked out my iPhone. No Red Lobster! Wah waaah. The night turned around, though. We got wine, and Asian take-out, and watched some great shows at her house.

Yesterday, I got home from work (at around the normal time when I had been expecting to leave super early, what a drag) and found my apartment full of balloons, all tied to either a chocolate bar or a bottle of wine.

I immediately noticed the banner. Perfect. If you don't get it, watch Trick.

This was my first surprise party ever! I was really excited, and so happy that my friends cared enough to give me an amazing birthday when I was expecting an insignificant one. Megan even made an amazing card which I'll have to steal a photo of to post on here later.

And now, David and and I don't have to spend anymore special occasions apart. I am leaving my job next month. In the next couple weeks, I'll be taking some serious steps towards a goal which now feels in reach. It's an exciting time to be me. :)

  2. Thank you very much Megan for planning such a beautiful surprise party at home! I really appreciate it. I can't comment this blog without make a special mention to the awesome and wonderful Miss Coco Peru's appearance! She couldn't miss such a great event! I love the idea and it make me want to watch Trick right now (watching the best scene ever like 30 times… of course!)

    Obviously, I'm sorry I wasn't there for the party… I missed it…
